INGREDIENTS
This feature makes the magnesium in Settlers more assimilable in cells including those of the central nervous system. We use two different compounds: magnesium taurate in the capsules and magnesium aspartate in the liquid. They are both similarly effective but the latter has better solubility properties to allow a liquid version of Settlers. Both forms have numerous research and clinical findings to support their effectiveness and safety.
Settlers Capsules;
each capsule contains 500mg magnesium taurate with no other ingredient. The capsule shells are vegetable cellulose.
Settlers Liquid:
1ml liquid contains 500mg magnesium aspartate hydrochloride, purified water and potassium sorbate preservative. Potassium sorbate is a natural preservative found in fruit.
FEEDING
For the first three days give half the recommended daily amount to allow the dog’s system time to adjust and avoid ‘funny tummy’ troubles then increase to the whole amount advised.
If convenient split the daily ration and give morning and evening with food to keep magnesium levels topped up throughout the day. After this adjustment period it is safe to feed increased quantities when anticipating particularly stressful events such as moving to a new home, a stay in kennels, a new addition to the family, competition etc.
Some situations eg travelling, showing etc may necessitate giving settlers outside of normal mealtimes. This is OK.
Whether you use Settlers in liquid or capsule form, the decision will be influenced perhaps by how well your dog will accept a ‘pill’ but to make your life easier each bottle of the liquid comes fitted with an adaptor and a graduated syringe.
All of this information is simply intended as a starting point and eventually you may feel that your dog needs some adjustment to achieve optimum benefit.
